The amount of fees, &c., collected this year is no doubt much larger than usual, the business of the Court having very largely increased in consequence in a great measure of the land speculation of last year. They do not as yet show any signs of falling off as up to the end of August, they have amounted to $11,086.89.
The fees would have averaged, however, if they had all been paid into the Treasury, during the years 1879, 1880 and 1881 nearly $10,000, and I think that without being largely increased as some of them might very well be, they will in future range between $12,000 and $15,000.
